The Revenge

Every time I saw her, I always flew on my mind for hours. Her soft gray eyes with the white cheeks fascinated me. I always imagined her smiles. Even though I never saw it. She never smiled. That’s the most important fact. I wanted to make her smiled. At least she smiled at me.

Saga Huskydottir sat beside me in the class. She was staring at her thick and dusty Shakespeare. I looked at her eyes, again and again continually until her eyes met my eyes.

I didn’t realize it. We met our eyes for about a minute, and when I realize it, I blushed myself and apologize.

“I’m very sorry. I didn’t me...”

She’s staring at me for a while and said.

“You have a pair of beautiful eyes.”

I was surprised with her words. Every people considered my eyes as the weirdest eyes people ever have. I have a pair of bloody red eyes.

“Thank you... You have tho...”

“Is it a ruby?”

“Sorry?”

This was the first time I had a chat with her. For almost a year sitting in the same desk in the school, we never talked each other. Actually, she was the one who never talked to me. Not only to me, she never talked to everyone.

“Ruby?” I asked her.

“You’re a ruby.” She whispered me.

The only thing on my mind is: “She is crazy” and no doubt of it. Eventhough her appearance was as beautiful as a princess, her mind was not normal.

I stood up, and I went to the door when Mr. Sarabi called my name.

“Mr. Portau-Prince, where are you going?”

I stopped as his words stopped, I forgot completely about the class. My entire mind was full of Saga Huskydottir, the most beautiful lady in the entire of Iceland.

“Go back to your seat.” Mr. Sarabi touched me with his long stick. Then, I went back to my seat.

I saw Saga deeply. I was not sure what kind of feeling this is. I caught a diamond-like tear on the corner of her eyes.

“What hap...”

She stared at me last night. I was getting tired of her acts.

“Can you stop that?”

She didn’t listen to me. She said,

“Can I visit you tonight?”

I didn’t know how much her craziness was on her head. Since I only lived alone, I agreed.

“Sure.”

After class, I did not go home. Meanwhile, I went to the nearest mini market to buy mutton. I was thinking to have our dinner with Hangikjot, and because Saga was going to visit me, I bought two portions of mutton.

It was just 4 p.m and I already couldn’t see the sun The stars appeared out there, even though it was not the time for dinner yet, I already put the mutton on the microwave. I was very nervous, especially when I thought about Saga. These days, her appearance was totally impressed me. My marks on school were going down very easily, but I didn’t care.

I went to the yard outside my house. It was full moon. The Hurricane-Blue lake was on its best face. The water was sparkling perfectly. It reflected the light of the full moon. It was really bright, really beautiful, just like a diamond.

Yes, it was similar with the diamond.

I didn’t know why suddenly my heart beated really fast.

“Day dreaming!” A voice caught me up.

I controlled myself. I didn’t know what happen at all, I turned around, and said.

“Saga, how did you enter? I could not hear anything come nearby me...” and when I paused my words, I saw a sparkling thing on her arm. When I touched it, I just realized that it’s blood. Her arm is injured. Its not a small wound, it’s a very big wound.

“What happened?? Are you crashed??” I was very panic at that time. But Saga didn’t answer me. She pulled her hand off of my grab and said,

“I did it on purpose!”

With the cold sharp eyes on my eyes. Our eyes met again.

I undid my shawl, and I give it to her. But then suddenly she said,

“It doesn’t need shawl.”

Then she walked towards the Blue-Hurricane lake, she put her injured arm there, and after a minute, she woke up and showed me her arm. I was very surprised with her, her arm had no big wound left, only small scratches.

“Wow, how did you do that?” I was very surprised.

“Love and care did their job well.” Then she smiled, and it was the best smile I ever see! Oh my God! I became nervous and couldn’t think clearly.

I decided not to ask her anymore about it. Then I asked her to come inside my house.

“Come on, take a rest inside. You like mutton, do you?” I asked her kindly.

She didn’t answer. She stared at me.

“What again?” I said to her.

“You have good eyes.” She smiled.

“You’ve said it twice.” I told her and I walked towards my house. But, I caught something. Saga’s eyes were brighter than this morning.

“Hey, do you wear soft lenses?”

Saga didn’t answer me. She looked at the name board of my house.

“You must be not from Iceland.”

“No...”

“Then, where are you from? Portau-Prince is Bahamas, right?”

I confused with her words for a while until she continued her words.

“Are you from Bahamas?”

“Oh, no...” I laughed. “I’m from South West Russia.”

I took the warm mutton onto a very big plate. It really smelt good, and I heard Saga’s very excited.

“Wow! My favorite food!”

“Really?” I was happy she liked it. “I adore it one hour after I arrived here.”

“Yes, I love it since 4.” She laughed to me. I was very happy at that time.

“Hmm... Where’s the Portau-Prince Dottir? I haven’t meet them” Saga said. (dottir is a called for daughters in Iceland).

“I live by my own.” I also surprised with the fact that its legal here. “Why?”

Saga quieted herself. She didn’t listen to me. She stopped moving just like a stone.

“Am I wrong?” I asked her carefully.

She didn’t answer me until I heard a man screamed in front of my house.

“Husky Dottir! Come out! You can’t hide anymore!”

“Oh no!” Saga screamed out loud. “He managed it here.”

I was still confused with her words an all of this moment but then someone broke through my front door. I didn’t know what happened at all.

“Who is...” But Saga quickly grabbed my hand.

“Hurry hide yourself!” She held my arm tightly. Her arm was very cold. Suddenly, I felt afraid. “They’ll kill you just like they kill my brother!”

“What th...” I had not finished my words until a big hand grabbed my arms and threw me to the door. It was hard, I could hear cracked sound. But, I was pretty sure I wasn’t injured any.

When I woke up Saga was already disappeared. In my thought, Saga was kidnapped by that big human I ran outside, and I ran towards the Blue-Hurricane lake. I didn’t know why. My nstinct told me so.

I saw nobody here, and I saw a lot of blood in the lake. Without another thought, panicly I threw myself into the lake.

But I just forgot how to swim.

Whatever you did, even though only moved your eyes but if it diidn’t help you to float, so it would be useless.

But I swore a hand pulled me to the edge f the lake.

It was Saga, I was very sure.

But something weird on her. She looked bad. Very bad, and something on her stomach made my feeling scared.

I managed to stand in the edge of the lake but then I saw Saga, she was tied onto a big tree. With a 05 minutes bomb attached on her stomach.

“Hey, who are you?” a fierce man said.

“Who cares? Hurry releases her!” I said to her and I was going to kill him. I didn’t know why but now, I don’t care anything except Saga.

“Who are you...” he pointed Saga, “...for her? I thought I’ve managed to make her alone in this world. But now, she has a boyfriend!”

“No!” Saga screamed fast. “He’s not my boyfriend. He’s just...”

“Yes!” I said it loudly. “I’m her boyfriend.”

“No! You’re lying!” Saga cried a lot.

“I believe in you more than that bitch!” The man grabbed me and tied me on to the same tree with Saga,

“It’s my entire fault...” Saga cried.

“Quiet... Why don’t you just release her? I want to be a replacement of her! I’m not afraid of death!” I stared to that man.

“No, it should be both of her, and her precious.” He said to me.

“Why?” I screamed again. I felt useless speaking with him.

“Because, if I only kill you, or kill her, it will be a sadden for her, or for you.” He said. “I understand that clearly. So, I’m gonna kill both of you.”

We both quieted and suddenly the bomb tickled louder.

“Five minutes left!” He said.

“No...” Saga mourned. I tried to think harder and harder. But there was no use. I tried to talk with him.

“Tell me all the story.” I said. “I don’t know anything. But since I am...’ I saw Saga, “...his boyfriend, I have the right to know.”

“Liar!” Saga shouted at me. “You’re not my precious. You have nothing on me, so, you must run away!”

“I will never believe you, Husky Dottir!”He shouted at Saga and hit her head. Saga lost consciousness.

When I saw her, something hot flew in my heart. I went mad.

“You...” I said loudly, “how dare you hurt her! I’ll kill you!” I went mad, and trying to release the rope.

“She must pay it!” He said calmly. “Because she and all the Huskys killed my Elladora!”

“Who is Elladora, anyway?”

“My fiancée.” He answered. Suddenly he became quiet. “We’re going to marry next two weeks. But she suddenly had a severe illness. Since I only lived by myself, I couldn’t afford for her treatment and medicine. So, I asked for a help from the most wealthy family in this town, the Huskys.

“The Huskys consists of a boy and a girl. They are both orphan, but they lived happily. Her brother,” he stared at Saga, “Laurentio was very rude. I told him about my fiancée’s illness, but he didn’t even give me a look! I think, he already forgot about his best friend.

“I came home with nothing, and Elladora passed away the following day.” He said. “I can never imagine how cruel that day was. I buried Elladora with her wedding dress, and since that day, I’m sure she cries a lot.”

I only muted myself while hearing his story. Then he continued his story.

“A week after that day, Laurentio came with his girlfriend and they both laughed. I went mad at that time, and then without any other thought, I shot Laurentio and his girlfriend.”

I saw his tears. I didn’t know what was that mean.

“His sister, Saga was going to revenge for her brother. A week ago, she stabbed me with a knife.” He showed me a big wound on his stomach. “since that day, I wanted to kill her. I’m sure she’s very sad. Then, I wan to make her happy with going to the same place with her brother...” he stopped, “...and Elladora.”

“But that’s not the way!” I said to him. “That’s very arrogant of you! Your fiancée must be very sad seeing you become like this.”

He quieted, and suddenly, a ball of light appeared. All so sudden, I saw a beautiful woman’s shadow. I thought I knew who she is.

“Jim,” she said calmly. “Don’t make me sad.” After she said that, she disappeared.

I saw Jim, the violent person, who was crying out loud.

“I’m sorry, Elle.”

After that, he released both me and Saga. Then I said to him.

“You did great thing. Thank you.”

Jim only smiled. Then he ran away.

The next week, Jim gave himself to the police. He admitted that he killed Laurentio and his girlfriend. Saga was cured from her wounds, and she decided to live with me! Since both of us lived alone now. We continue our life, our school, and maybe, create a new family in the future? I will.
